While the Kangaroo Bluff Battery was originally developed in the late 1800s to prevent enemy vessels from posing a threat to Hobart, it now makes the perfect picnic location with views over the River Derwent, Kunanyi/Mount Wellington and Nipaluna/Hobart. After exploring the Kangaroo Bluff Battery and learning about Tasmania's early wartime history, we will visit various wineries and venues in the region, including Every Man and His Dog Vineyard, Frogmore Creek Restaurant, Wicked Cheese, Richmond Village, and Nocton Vineyard. These venues offer wine, chocolate and cheese tastings for you to indulge in. Additionally, you can take pleasure in exploring the beautiful gardens surrounding these Tasmanian wineries.
For lunchtime, we have arranged a gourmet two-course winery lunch at Frogmore Creek Winery, where you can also enjoy more wine tastings.
Take a stroll through the historic village of Richmond and cross over Australia's oldest working bridge.
Along our route are several roadside stalls selling local fruits and preserves - a great opportunity to purchase something special to bring home as a souvenir.
This is just one more incredible tour experience offered by Day Tours Tasmania - an establishment that already provides tours to Bruny Island and the Tasman Peninsula.
