Our Moreton Island Snorkel and Sandboarding tour starts with a luxury cruise across beautiful Moreton Bay to Moreton Island. On arrival we board our 4WD and drive off the ferry directly on to the beach. Moreton Island is the worlds third largest sand island of which 98% is a protected National Park, with no sealed roads, 4WD is the only mode of transport!
Travelling by 4WD along Middle Road, we pass through thick eucalypt forest, featuring beautiful Xanthorrhoea (Grass Trees) up to 250 years old on our way to The Desert, the home of Sand Boarding.
Sand boarding and tobogganing is an awesome fun, high speed and high adrenalin activity and speeds of up to 50km/h can be reached. From beginners, young children and families, to the most adventurous adrenalin junkie, The Desert is the perfect place to learn, or fine tune, your sand boarding skills. This open sand dune is shaped every day by winds that form the perfect wave. Make sure you bring your camera to get plenty of impressive shots!
